Wyatt Michael is one of the many hopefuls who auditioned for NBC’s The Voice. Before you see him take the stage for season 21, you may want to learn more about him. We’ve got you covered with five fun facts below.
5 Facts About Wyatt Michael
1) According to his Instagram, he’s “inspired by the timeless legends of the past and the Great American Songbook.” This is what informs his jazz singing.
2) Before he took to jazz, Wyatt and his brother played in a rock band called Chasing Avenir. They performed in venues across Virginia, quickly gaining popularity. Releasing their first EP “Blue” gave them more success.
3) In 2019, Wyatt’s first solo album Renaissance was released. The album contained never-before-released tracks from composer David Mann, whose son gave Michael permission to record them.
4) As he made the switch from rock to jazz, the logo for his image changed too. The first initial of his first and last name (W & M) make a “bowtie” of sorts if you put them together. See what we mean below:
5) Classics greatly influence Wyatt, but so do modern takes. He puts his own spin on things, making his sound unique and robust. Listen to his cover of “Dream a Little Dream of Me” and hear for yourself.
