Her song was about her journey, \u201cI\u2019m Here\u201d from The Color Purple.\u201d Her voice filled the hall and gave people goosebumps! At one point on one of her long notes, you see Lionel Richie say, “Boom!” She received standing ovations from Katy and Luke. Katy said, “that was too much in vocal gymnastics” and thinks Alyssa is psyching herself out. In the final judgement this is what was said.<\/p>\n\n\n\nLuke Bryan asked her how she’s doing. He said, “your audition, it was very very amazing, there is a fine line with you controlling this powerhouse voice and blending it from top to bottom.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katy said, “I can overcompensate, some people overcompensate and some undercompensate, but you can’t throw 52 cards in our faces.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alyssa is the first of the show to move into the top 24!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Update on 3\/21\/21<\/strong>: Alyssa wasn’t shown in the Hollywood Solo week performances episode but she did move on to the Hollywood Duets Week round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n1) Alyssa Wray is a freshman at Northern Kentucky University. She is majoring in musical theater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2) She’s from Perryville, Kentucky<\/a>. Her community is super supportive of her Idol<\/em> journey. 3) Locals have already seen Alyssa perform. In 2019, Alyssa sang at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Gospel Music Showcase. That took place at the Kentucky State Fair, and you can even see a video below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
