American Idol airs its last round of auditions this week. One new contestant who will take the stage is Tryzdin Grubbs. We’ve got five facts on the American Idol hopeful for you below. So, keep reading to learn more about Tryzdin.
Get to Know Tryzdin
1) Tryzdin Grubbs has been singing since he was little. At just 11 years old, he sang a cover of Adele’s “Hello” that went viral on YouTube. The 2016 video (posted below) has over 4 million hits!
2) His latest single “Whisper” already has over 32,000 streams on Spotify. It’s an original song, written exclusively by Tryzdin. Listen to the teaser below. His upbeat pop sound is infectious!
3) Tryzdin likes to experiment with his hair color. He’s tried green, blonde, a rooted look, brown and more. He rocked the blonde for his Idol audition though. You can see his signature style below:
Bonus Fact: Given the unique spelling of his name (Tryzdin), he has been able to use solely his first name for his social media handles. He joins the likes of Nina Dobrev (@nina), and Cher (@cher) who have done the same!
4) He hails from Columbus, Ohio and is 16 years old. According to his Twitter bio, he “writes about bullying and suicide awareness in the form of music.” For more of his musical journey, watch this IGTV video:
5) He’s a member of Saint Mars, the alternative pop collective. Tryzdin’s on lead vocals, with other artists from the UK and Switzerland. According to their website, their sound is similar to that of Panic at the Disco and MGMT.
