With a strong background in the top restaurant kitchens including The French Laundry, chefs Jason McKinney and Tyler Vorce would often include truffles in their dishes. They came into the tank seeking $500K for 10% equity in their business. After receiving some offers from Robert and Mark, they took the one from Mark for $501K for 18% equity.
Who are the founders of Truffle Shuffle?
There are three co-founders, Jason McKinney who is the CEO and Tyler Voice who is the COO. The two worked at The French Laundry and along with Sarah who worked at the front of the house at this restaurant conceived and launched Truffle Shuffle. Sarah McKinney is currently the President of Communications and another co-founder.
What is the mission of the company?
The chefs wanted to be certain to only provide the finest truffle products by carefully sourcing fresh truffles, the finest in the world.
Does Truffle Shuffle support any charities?
The company also has a philanthropical side where they support the community by volunteering and donating a portion of profits to 1% for the Planet.
In addition to sourcing and selling truffles, they also have “The Truffle Shuffle Show” where they offer live online classes teaching the coveted craft and skills needed to cook dishes like a real chef.

Tyler Vorce and Jason McKinney have known each other for a long time, seven years to be exact.

They know how to drum up excitement. They brought in some celebrity power for one of their courses, Snoop Dogg for a tutorial in Rolling pasta. He was teaching everyone how to make wild mushroom fettuccine Alfredo.
