Titin Update

1) Patrick Whaley was the CEO, and created the weighted compression clothes to help athletes be stronger, faster, and feel lighter. Essentially, it adds additional resistance so you can maximize your results in competition. Moisture-wicking fabrics and removable gel inserts are a couple of the benefits.

2) Patrick studied mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech. But, his focus changed to kinesiology and physiology, according to Shark Tank Tales. This benefitted him in being able to lead all product licensing negotiations, marketing, product research, and development for his company.

3) Founded in 2005, Patrick made various models before receiving funding for his vision. After endorsements from professional athletes came around for the prototype, he knew he had a business. This led him to appear on Shark Tank and strike a deal with Daymond John for $500,000 for 20%.

4) Unfortunately, a few years later, Titin Tech’s site and social media were inactive. Apparently, there were allegations about the use of technology and patent claim issues. They are out of business; Patrick’s LinkedIn page lists December 2015 as the end date of his company.

5) Patrick started his own LLC in 2016, Whaley Ventures. He works with companies as an acquisition entrepreneur, according to his LinkedIn.

Shark Tank airs new episodes on Fridays at 8/7 c on ABC.
