The Seventy2 is a 72-hour survival kit. It was pitched on season 9 of ABC’s Shark Tank. Toted by critics as a must-have, it’s a crucial kit to have with you in a dire situation. We’ve got five facts on the product below. So, keep reading to learn about what happened after the show.
What happened with The Seventy2 from Shark Tank?
1) Christian Schauf and Mike Escamilla invented The Seventy2. They worked closely with first responders and other professionals to perfect a survival kit. Inside is literally everything you could possibly think of to withstand elements or terrain. Apparently, the first 72 hours of being in a situation like this are crucial, which is why the need for this kit is so important.
2) Within the kit, there’s a tent, waterproof matches, a splint, antibacterial wipes, flashlight, and an insert for a first-aid kit (kit’s included). A water filtration system, space blanket, all-in-one multi-tool, 3-in-1 radio, and duct tape are also included. But, that’s not all. A firestarter, paracord, rations, sunscreen, air filtration mask, hat, portable shovel/pickaxe, water bottle, heat pack, gloves, and goggles round it out.
3) It costs $389. It’s sold online from Uncharted Supply Co. In addition to the singular kit, there’s one made for 2+ people. It’s known as The Seventy2 Pro. The Basecamp is an “indestructible 4 person survival kit.” There’s even refills of products that go inside the kits for purchase.
4) Christian and Mike went into the tank asking for $100,000 for 5%, and walked out with double the money for double the percentage. The shark they did a deal with is Robert Herjavec.
5) Since the show, they’ve done partnerships with companies like Yeti and Harley Davidson. Media outlets like TIME and The Huffington Post rave about it, so their product is a success. No wonder they’ve done partnerships and have wonderful reviews.
