Picture this: it’s cold outside, and all you want is a nice warm food to soothe your soul — and your stomach. Well, you could totally make that fantasy a reality if you had soup stored and ready to go. But, even if most people do think about freezing soups, stews, broths, and the like, they don’t often think of portion sizes. That’s where Souper Cubes come in super-handy. The user-friendly, fun way to store and freeze liquids has taken over the food industry. Now, the owners will make their TV debut on Shark Tank. If you’re curious to learn more about the invention, keep reading below for five facts.
Details on Souper Cubes
1) Souper Cubes were invented by Michelle and Jake Sendowski. The couple have PhD’s in higher education and engineering. Michelle and Jake put their heads together to figure out a way to create a portion-friendly freezer product. With their love of soup in mind, obviously the name Souper Cubes came naturally.
2) What’s unique about their product is you can put food into it whether it’s hot or cold. You simply scoop out the amount you want, and put it into one of their divided containers. Then, freeze the food until you’re ready to use it again. You can easily pop out the frozen food and reheat it, via stovetop or microwave.
3) Right now, they come in a light blue and teal color. It comes in 1/2, 1 cup, and 2 tablespoon sizes. There’s also a cookie tray, which is a vibrant purple color.
4) The product has been featured on Buzzfeed. They are sold on Amazon and Williams Sonoma, plus in Sur La Table stores.
5) They’ve got an impressive social media following. Over 12,000 on Instagram, and close to 5,000 on Facebook. With those numbers, it’s no wonder they’ve made it into the tank! Considering Mark Cuban is holding on to their product, perhaps they convince him to do a deal.
To find out what happens, tune in to Shark Tank on Feb. 19 at 8 PM ET, only on ABC.
