Skyler Maxey-Wert is one of many hopefuls who took the stage for American Idol season 20. The triple-threat is ready to share his talent with the judges onstage. Before the episode debuts March 21, find out more about Skyler.
1) He’s a dancer, singer, and songwriter. This makes him a multi-talent and a standout for the season.
2) He was a Second Soloist with SemperOper Ballet. The SemperOper Ballet is a ballet located in Dresden, Germany. This means Skyler’s well-traveled and obviously worldly. He was promoted to second soloist in 2020, and announced the news to his Instagram.
3) Other places he’s traveled to include: Mexico, Spain and Greece.

5) Skyler’s engaged to his partner of 5 years, Alejandro Martínez. He wrote: “It’s official! 💍🙈 Thank you for 5 beautiful years my love, here’s to many many more ♥️ #engaged” Alejandro is also a professional dancer, and they’ve worked together before too.
He was super excited about his spot on American Idol. “SoOoOoOooo….I did a thing! What an experience! 😁”
