American Idol is all about making dreams come true for ordinary people with extraordinary talent. Sam (Samantha) Free is no exception. The blonde Nevada native will take her best shot and sing her heart out for the judges on season 21 of the hit competition series. Before she makes her debut, learn more about Samantha below, including her school, relationship status and famous friends.
1) Sam’s full name is Samantha, but she goes by the shorter name more often than not. Another name she’s known by is Sammy, by her friends. Speaking of friends, she has a slew of famous ones. YouTuber/actress Summer McKeen, musician/TikToker Jamisen Jarvis, singer Lexi Jayde and celebrity photographer Bryant are among her friends.
2) She attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated in 2020. Samantha was a cheerleader, cheering on her classmates at football games.
3) Free was nominated to Homecoming Court during senior year of high school. She attended junior year Homecoming, junior Prom and senior Homecoming with high school sweetheart Carson Wells.
Sam made lemonade out of lemons when her Senior Prom was canceled due to the pandemic in 2020. “since senior prom was cancelled.. here’s me in my dress with some cute dates🤗,” she captioned the Instagram post of her in a pretty terracotta dress with two horses.
4) Currently, she’s single. But, her brand new single coming soon is all about first love. The title is “Fell in Love at 15.” Check out the teaser reel from her Instagram page now! However, this is not the only music she has done. Sam filmed a music video for her song “Lie So Good,” plus released singles “Bare” and “COME THRU.”
5) In addition to singing, she can also play the guitar. Now, it’s unclear whether or not she’ll strum a tune during her Idol audition, but one thing is for sure: she’s very excited about it! “surprise!! I auditioned for @americanidol in my hometown! tune in February 19th on ABC to watch me singg💫,” she wrote.
