5 Facts on Salted from Shark Tank

Salted isn’t your average food service company; it’s exclusively pick-up and delivery of a select few culinary wonders, including Cauliflower Pizza, and Ginger Bowl. This unique food service company will be featured on ABC’s Shark Tank this week, so we’ve got 5 fun facts on Salted for you below.

1) Salted was cultivated by Jeff Appelbaum, who wanted to change the future of the restaurant business. He came up with the way of Salted, which is actually an overarching umbrella for restaurants.

2) What makes Salted different than traditional food services is that it is pick-up or delivery only. By eliminating the dine-in aspect of the food experience, Jeff believes that the food value is better.

3) Salted currently houses 6 restaurant companies: Cauliflower Pizza, Ginger Bowl, Thrive Kitchen, moonbowls, the $5 Salad Company, and F/ck Gluten. You can order their food through any delivery app, such as GrubHub or DoorDash.

4) Salted in currently located in: San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, Chicago, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio. Jeff’s plan is to further expand their reach beyond those 4 cities/states.

5) Jeff is no stranger to the world of eCommerce. He was the VP at BeachMint, and founded DealQuad, a college student commerce space. Hopefully his prior knowledge does him well when he steps into the Shark Tank this week!
