Roq Innovation from Shark Tank – 5 Facts

Sometimes, you need light. Other times, you need to be hands-free. So, using a flashlight in the dark isn’t always the best option when you’re changing a tire, for example. Well, it just so happens entrepreneur Raquel Graham thought so too. That’s why she made the innovative hats with lights known as Roq Innovation. They debuted on Shark Tank in season 13. An Update on Roq Innovation from Shark Tank

1) Roq Innovation was founded by Raquel Graham. According to her LinkedIn, she has a degree from Wesleyan University in History and received her MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

2) Although the first product was NEKZ, an alternative neck scarf, it was HEADLIGHTZ that really took off. The latter is her line of beanies with built-in LED light. That light can last for up to 8 hours! It comes in a headband version too. You can shop on their website.

3) On Shark Tank, Raquel actually got a deal with two sharks. Kevin O’Leary and guest shark Peter Jones went in on a deal together. Their offer was: $200,000 for 20% equity and a $1 per unit royalty until $600,000. Graham asked for: $200,000 for 15% equity.

4) Their sales were already great. They did $2.4 million in sales, and had been featured on HSN before appearing on Shark Tank! Post-show, Raquel’s business was featured on The View. “Thank you to the fabulous team at @theviewabc and @viewyourdeal,” the brand wrote on Instagram.

5) The current lineup includes the beanies, headbands, neck scarves, and yes, face masks. Rave reviews from customers say the products, especially the hats, are great for fishing, dog walking, etc. This aligns with Raquel’s mission to “provide clever, better solutions to daily obstacles.”
