American Idol continues its audition process this week. One new contestant taking the stage is Ronda Felton. We’ve got five facts about the American Idol hopeful below. So, keep reading to learn more about Ronda.
Update on 3/29/21: Ronda sang “All In Love Is Fair” by Stevie Wonder. She unfortunately did not make it to the top 24.
Update on 3/22/21: Ronda was paired up with Funke. Ronda dealt with a lot of feelings of being unworthy and Funkemike was very helpful to her. They sang on stage in their duet. The judges had a bit of a disagreement as to who they should move on to the next level. Lionel felt the performance was a “trainwreck.” They both made it to the next round of the show.
1) Ronda was born on August 14, 2001. She’s 19 years old, and will be 20 this summer.
2) She’s a singer and songwriter. She’s posted some of her vocals on Instagram. Check out a snippet below:
3) Besides singing, Ronda’s into theater. She’s been in productions of Waitress and Carrie. She’s a member of the National Youth Arts Theater, which includes alum like HSMTMTS star Joshua Bassett. Ronda is a two-time award winner in the program.
4) Ronda is confident in her own skin. That confidence shines through in her singing, as well as gives her a stage presence. She’ll need both to help her succeed on Idol.
5) She’s a fan of filters, or anything with cute ears. She dressed up in cat ears last Halloween with one of her friends.
