American Idol airs its Hollywood round episode this week for season 19 on ABC. One contestant taking part who got his golden ticket and made it through to the next rounds is Presley Barker. 1) He’s been singing since he was 2 years old! Well, as much as any 2 year old can anyhow. “Back when I got started,” he joked. Check out this black and white photo of him holding the microphone and guitar!

3) Presley’s a country music singer/songwriter hailing from the south in North Carolina. His newest single is called “Middle of Somewhere.”
4) He’s close with family. His mom’s name is Julie; dad’s Eric; his little brother’s named Luke.
5) When he’s not singing, he enjoys the country life. He grew up on farmland in North Carolina. From tractor trailers to cattle hoof trimming, he’s done it all. They have the perfect set of land to go bike riding or hunting on too.

We love Presley, but he has no baggage, loves his family, has strong roots and is a clean cut kid. American idol wants lots more drama than that. It’s all about ratings, not talent. Presley will do fine on his own.
