Vegetarians and vegans, rejoice: there’s a new plant-based snack on the market. This unique product is called Pan’s Mushroom Jerky, and it will make its Shark Tank debut this week. If you’re curious to learn more about the snack, keep reading below.
1) Pan’s Mushroom Jerky was created by Michael Pan who perfected the recipe after visiting family in Malaysia. Michael was an engineer by trade, but took to the kitchen for this idea.
2) In 2018, he turned his idea into the mushroom jerky that will be on Shark Tank. The product is made with shiitake mushrooms, which are high in fiber and are a great replacement for meat.
3) Pan’s jerky is kosher, paleo-friendly, as well as free of gluten and soy. It’s organic and has no preservatives. It’s been featured on The TODAY Show and in Cooking Light Magazine.
4) Right now there are four flavors: Original, Zesty Thai, Applewood BBQ, and Salt & Pepper. You can buy a variety pack on Amazon, or shop the official website.
5) While they’re in over 500 stores, the mushroom jerky isn’t in any big chains yet. That’s one thing Michael is looking for help from the sharks on.
