February 14 is Valentine’s Day but for contestants on American Idol, it’s the day their audition airs. One young girl that tried out this season is Nia Renee. We’ve got a few facts about her below. So, keep reading to learn more about this vibrant American Idol hopeful.
Update on 3/29/21: Nia Renee sang “A Change Is Gonna Come” by, Sam Cooke. She unfortunately did not make it to the top 24.
1) Her real name is Tania Kelley. Nia Renee is considered to be her stage name.
2) She’s only 17 years old. She’s a senior at Central High School in Arkansas.

3) While she doesn’t know what college she’ll attend, she wants to focus on vocal performance. She has quite the voice, so it makes sense.
4) She previously performed in theater productions at her school. Nia is also the president of Central’s theater department. Drama was how she got into the arts.
5) She taped her preliminary in her bedroom in Little Rock. And yes, it was over Zoom! Even though that was from home, her televised audition won’t be! She taped it on the sound stage of American Idol.
