Magic Dates are a date-based snack bite. Diana Jarrar created the snack. The goal is to bridge the gap between choosing healthy food and indulging in a sweet treat. The food was so popular, it scored a spot on ABC’s Shark Tank. So, what happened on the episode? Did Diana get a deal? Find out below, as well as where the company is now.
1) Diana Jarrar created Magic Dates because she enjoyed the fruit with her family in Syria. Dates are the primary ingredient in these yummy snack bites. The fruit is high in fiber, antioxidants, and are naturally sweet. They have no added sugar, making them a healthful choice. Other ingredients in Diana’s snack bites include: walnuts and 100% dark chocolate.
2) On Shark Tank, Diana went into the tank asking for $150,000 in exchange for 10% of her company. She received a deal with Kevin O’Leary aka: “Mr. Wonderful.” But, the deal was for the $150,000 for 33.3%. Even so, Diana was thrilled. “This is truly a dream come true for me and MAGICDATES,” she wrote on Instagram.
3) There are uncoated and chocolate coated snack bites available. Uncoated flavors include: coconut cream cake, lush lemon bar, and salted walnut brownie. Chocolate coated flavors are: blueberry chocolate, chocolate hazelnut truffle, triple chocolate, and chocolate coconut cookie.
4) Recently, a new product launched called Date Flight. Date Flight is a premium box of organic dates. You get 4 different kinds, all 1/2 lb. orders. Also included are five recipes from different collaborators.
5) Kevin O’Leary has contacted retailers such as Walmart to help expand Magic Dates’ range. You can also shop them online, or see what other retailers they are available at here. The estimated net worth is $450,000, according to Feeling the Vibe.
