American Idol kicked off its new season last week. Now, it’s time for another night of auditions. A couple of contestants who will participate are Liahona and Ammon Olayan. We’ve got a few fun facts about the sister and brother duo below. So, keep reading to find out more about these American Idol sibling hopefuls.

Update on 3/29/21: Liahona sang “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor. She made it to the Top 24!
Update 3/21/21: On Hollywood Week Liahona played the piano and sang an upbeat song that definitely caught the attention of the judges! Ammon also performed but unfortunately he wasn’t moved ahead to the Hollywood Week Duets. Liahona was chosen to move on and was visibly upset when her brother couldn’t join her.
1) Liahona and Ammon began writing songs when they were 12 and 13 years old.
2) They were inspired by their family’s big move to Hawaii. With no electronic connections, they wrote songs instead. Their creativity took off from there.
3) They have 7 little brothers and sisters. Their family is Polynesian.
4) Liahona began posting covers to songs on Instagram. One example is Madison Beer’s song “Selfish.” Ammon has done the same. He’s covered popular songs like “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars.
5) Liahona and Ammon Olayan released their first EP in 2019. It’s called Life is Good. It’s available on iTunes.
Does their audition impress the judges? If so, will they get a golden ticket? Find out when American Idol airs Feb. 21 at 8 PM ET, only on ABC.
