Update on Larq from Shark Tank

Larq is not just a water bottle but an award-winning one with effective UV-C LED technology for on-the-go water purification. Justin Wang, founder, brought Larq to the Shark Tank looking for a deal. What is this company all about?

Update on Larq after Shark Tank

Justin Wang requested the highest valuation in Shark Tank history. He asked for $500,000 for 1% of his company which caused a bunch of raised eyebrows by the sharks.

He got a deal from Lori Greiner and Kevin O’Leary, $500K each for 2% each in equity.

They use a technology known as PureVis which eradicates up to 99.9999% of germs according to their website. This way you don’t need to use toxic chemicals like mercury.

The bottles come in both insulated and non-insulated versions in multiple colors.

The insulated ones will keep your drink hot or cold depending on what you are storing. It will keep liquids cold for 24 hours and hot for 12.

They have a Larq pitcher coming out in 2021 and they ran an exclusive interview with Forbes all about how the PureVis technology is impacting the water experience.

This pitcher is actually the “first multi-stage water pitcher for the Smart Home,” explains Justin Wang, Larq’s co-founder in Forbes.

How is Larq different from other filtered pitchers?

Unfortunately, pitcher filters which are used to remove chlorine by trapping and collecting unwanted pollutants will end up growing bacteria and mold quickly in as little as two weeks. Larq eliminates that problem.

In addition, they can keep tabs on your family’s hydration habits by syncing it up with the app. It will give you “intelligent filter replacement recommendations based on your personal use of the pitcher. The app can provide information on local water supply as well.

It’s easily used on the go with the Active Loop Black. This one is designed to protect from bumps, scrapes, and keeps the micro-USB port clean. This loop actually fits on all their bottles.

A woman also reviewed this water bottle. You can see it here.

The bottles can be described as ultra-light design with pure water. This movement allows you to move more and worry less.

They also appears to have a blog called Basq which shares news, sustainability, travel, wellness, design, lifestyle, and interviews. You can see the blog here.
