Katrina Lake is the guest shark for the Friday, March 6th episode of Shark Tank. She is the CEO and founder of Stitch Fix a subscription based fashion service. 1. Katrina Lake is a 37 year old who is one of the youngest self-made billionaires! She has two children ages 3 and 1 and is married to John Clifford.
2. Katrina started her company Stitch Fix based on a need she saw in the market. Her company began in 2011 where algorithms are used to decide on the clothing customers receive. They receive the box of clothing, keep the ones they want and send back the rest.
3. Katrina is close with her team at Stitch Fix. You can see a photo below of one of the dinners they all went to.
4. In an interview with The Cut she said she actually likes cold calling! “I’ve actually had a lot of luck with cold emails on LinkedIn. People are often sharing articles there, and that’s a good excuse to connect. It’s not always going to work. There are tons of people I reached out to on LinkedIn who never wrote me back; there are tons of people who reach out to me today that I am not able to write back to.”
5. Katrina’s company made $1.2 billion in one year! It is also on the stock exchange under the ticker symbol SFIX. She was recently on Mad Money on CNBC to speak about her company.
