American Idol airs its last round of auditions this week. One new contestant who will take the stage is Jay Camaro. We’ve got five facts on the American Idol hopeful for you below. So, keep reading to learn more about Jay.

1) In an interview with ABC Action News, Jay Camaro said that he’s been singing since he was about “7 or 8 years old.” He’s 22 now, so that gives him 14-15 years experience!
2) While he specializes in a variety of musical genres, pop is his go-to.
Bonus Fact: For his Idol audition, he sang “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo and “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman.
3) This isn’t Jay’s first time auditioning for a singing competition show. For instance, in 2016 he auditioned for NBC’s The Voice. Later, he tried out for America’s Got Talent.
4) In addition to singing, Jay’s also a model with Benz Talent.
Bonus Fact: His goals for the future are to travel the world, tour, and lift hearts with his music. He also hopes to connect music to his modeling career.
5) He’s met some pretty famous people. Jay’s met actress Vivica A. Fox, world champion boxer Roy Jones and singer Leah Jenea, just to name a few.
