Get to Know Ian Bick
1) VICE reported on Ian’s original business. He ran an EDM club called Tuxedo Junction. His club days began when he was in high school. He had a knack for planning events.
2) As he got older, Ian roped his friends and classmates into his business venture. Soon, it became more about the money than putting on events. It became a Ponzi scheme, essentially. Bick convinced investors to put up money, he’d use that money to buy things for himself instead.
3) At the time all of this was occurring, Ian was 20 years old. This makes him one of the youngest schemers. Now, he’s approximately 25 years old. Apparently, everyone saw him as successful, charming college kid at the time. No one really suspected that this business venture was really a big gamble.
4) Ian has a brother named Skylar, and his father is named Michael. His dad owns a catering business called Some Things Fishy. Aside from his family life, Ian was last seen in a relationship with a girl named Teja. It’s unclear if they are still dating or not.
5) According to Warner Media’s official press release, Ian’s episode is titled “The Party’s Over.” The episode description has also been released. It reads: “Building a business with nothing but blind ambition, Ian Bick transforms himself from a nerdy teen into a concert promoter almost as legendary as the bands he books. As the teenager’s EDM raves pack houses and feed his emerging VIP lifestyle with first-class trips, high-end shopping, and brand-new jet skis, his fall is as dramatic as his rise – culminating in an FBI raid that shocks his family, friends, and hometown.” The episode is directed by George Plamondon.
Catch the premiere of Generation Hustle on April 22, only on HBO Max.
