If you have ever shared a bed with someone, and you’ve found yourself feeling frustrated by lack of sleep, then Hug Sleep is the solution to your problem. This cozy, comfortable wrap-style blanket mimics the form of a hug – or a cuddle – which allows the person to feel more relaxed. This in turn, leads to a more restful sleep, and if Hug Sleep’s presentation goes well, it might lead to a Shark Tank deal. If you’re curious as to how this invention came to be, keep reading below.
1) Hug Sleep was invented by Angie Kupper and Matt Mundt, a couple who had troubles sleeping. Angie and Matt struggled with feeling restless and uncomfortable, which led them to invent something to solve that issue. Enter: Hug Sleep – or as they call it, Sleep Hug – the revolutionary pod-like blanket cocoon.
2) How it works is with the science of deep touch pressure, which allows your body to relax and release tension. When you’re relaxed, your heart rate slows and circulation improves, which allows for you to seamless unwind from head-to-toe.
3) It’s also user-friendly. You simply slip it up and over your feet, legs, and waist, going all the way up to your shoulders to get the max “tucked in” effect. Then, all you do is lie down, and it conforms to whatever position you end up in. It’s also breathable, and machine washable. Pretty neat, right?
4) The product comes in 3 sizes: small (≤ 6 ft, sizes 00-4); medium (≤ 6’4, sizes 6-12); large (≤ 6’4, but sizes 14-22.) Right now it’s only available in the dark grey color, but who knows, maybe more could come in the future! You can shop it on Amazon.
5) Angie and Matt are asking for $150,000 for 10% stake, which values their company at around 1.5 million. Will they make a deal with one of the sharks? Maybe Lori Greiner – she is the queen of QVC after all, and this product screams “home shopping network.”
