A Financial Literacy App To Do Saving Easily
GoalSetter is an online banking platform designed for kids and families to teach them how to save and grow money easily. This company was founded by Tanya Van Court who is a mother of two children. Tanya got the idea for GoalSetter on the 9th birthday of her daughter ‘Gabrielle’.
It was featured on TechCrunch, Forbes, Yahoo! Finance, goop, and ABC.
In Season 10 of ABC’s shark tank, Tanya Van Court of GoalSetter presented her entrepreneurial idea of an online saving and gifting platform for kids in front of the panel of investors (sharks). She arrived in the tank asking for $200K in exchange for 4% equity in her company. All five sharks (Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, Mark Cuban, and guest Shark Jamie Siminoff) liked her idea but only Kevin O’Leary out of 5 sharks gave an offer for $200k for 25% equity to her. She turned down Kevin’s investment offer and left the tank without a deal.
GoalSetter’s Drafted Campaign
GoalSetter has recently launched a “DRAFTED” campaign in February 2021 for #BlackHistoryMonth. This campaign is running to get 1 million black & brown kids on their path to financial freedom and it will end in the financial literacy month ‘April’.
