Genius Juice was pitched on ABC’s Shark Tank, and caught the eye of a few “sharks,” including Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran. The two investors saw something special in the healthful coconut smoothie drink, and together, they negotiated a deal that practically blew the original out of the water! See, according to Business2Community, the original deal was $250K for 7% of the company, but Mark and Barbara made a deal of $500K for 25%.

- Founder and CEO Alex Bayer designed Genius Juice to be the first smoothie to utilize the whole coconut, including the “meat,” or white part of the nut. They are completely organic, plant-based, and dairy-free.
- There are 3 flavors to try: the original, turmeric, and coffee-flavored. Turmeric has become a staple in households thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants.
3. Did we mention that each smoothie is only 100 calories each with no added sugars? How amazing is that? That also amazed the sharks, as did the taste – it’s almost like a dessert.
4. Genius Juice isn’t just a name; Alex really knew his stuff when he went in front of the sharks! He presented his figures in a professional manner, and their results spoke for themselves. In 2018, they made $367K in sales, and tripled that in 2019. During that time, they expanded to 400 locations. Forbes reported that over 2,000 stores like Walmart and Publix carry Genius Juice.
5. Aside from the original flavor, which obviously just uses the whole coconut, Alex took the time to use unique ingredients that give his products a standout taste. The turmeric smoothie uses ginger and cinnamon; the mocha flavored one uses vanilla and Himalayan pink salt. There are plans to release a Vanilla Cinnamon flavor this fall, as well as an “added benefits” smoothie line in 2021.

In addition to Forbes, Genius Juice experienced a huge uptick in media coverage, as well as sales thanks to their January appearance on Shark Tank. They are set on expanding, and with two sharks behind them, they can definitely meet that goal.
