In season 11 of Shark Tank, FlexScreen made its TV debut. Joe Altieri, the mastermind behind the window screen, came out of the tank strong. So, if you’re curious about how he did it, keep reading. We’ve got all the details – including how the business is doing now – below.
An Update on FlexScreen from Shark Tank Season 11
1) Joe originally created prototypes of FlexScreen in his garage. A year ago, he presented in front of the sharks! His experience on the show was so vital. Joe began a blog called “Lessons from the Tank,” to help other entrepreneurs.
2) It’s the world’s first flexible window screen. If you caught Joe’s pitch during season 11, then you remember how revolutionary the idea was. It’s made up of phosphate that’s enhanced with steel. It’s also weather and scratch resistant.
3) In the last year, they’ve expanded outside of Pennsylvania (where Joe’s located), into other states. There are manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania, Michigan, South Dakota, Georgia, and Ontario, Canada.
4) Joe asked for $800K at 6%. That put his business at over $13 million. He ended up with $400K for 50% of the company, plus a $400K line of credit. That makes the company valued at 1 million even, which is still amazing for a year out.
5) Joe partnered up with Lori Greiner. She’s known as the “Queen of QVC.” Since coming aboard, Lori has given some credibility to the company. Their website has a sleek look, and their social media presence is growing. Seems like FlexScreen is moving forward.
