American Idol continues its audition process this week. One new contestant that will take the stage is Dzaki Sukarno. We’ve got five facts about the American Idol hopeful below. So, keep reading to find out more about Dzaki.
1) Dzaki first performed at a Future Farmers of America competition. He placed in the Top 15 performers, which gave him confidence to pursue singing further.
2) He’s a third year student at New Mexico University. He’s majoring in Agricultural Business.
3) He’s been around music his whole life. Growing up, he watched his dad play in a band. Dzaki credits his dad for getting him into music.
4) Pre-pandemic, Dzaki performed at local places like farmer’s markets. He wants to focus on traditional or more classic country music. He doesn’t want to do the mainstream way like a lot of other artists.
5) He’s got over 90,000 followers on TikTok. He calls himself an “Asian country boy” and country music heavily influences his sound.
