The Voice is back and better than ever this week. One new contestant auditioning for season 20 is Corey Ward. We’ve got five facts on The Voice hopeful for you below. So, keep reading to learn more about Corey.
1) This isn’t Corey’s first time auditioning! He went on The Voice last season. He covered Kaleo’s “Way Down We Go” While he didn’t advance then, he did get compliments from two music superstars: Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. They loved his voice and tone. 2) He’s been into all things music for 20 years. He joined his first band at age 14, and began performing the year before.
3) His family gave him the push he needed to try out for The Voice. He especially wanted to do it for his mom, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. She got to watch his audition virtually last year. She did a video with Corey this past fall, saying that her cancer was “hopefully” in remission. She’s been supportive of his music endeavors since day 1!

5) He’s a bit of a traveler, laying down roots in Hartsville, Charleston, Raleigh, and Atlanta.
