The collar of a shirt is often one of the most noticeable items in clothing and either stands out or doesn’t. Born out of a clothing need and miss on the market, the founders at Collars and Co set out to right the wrong in clothing which had been sitting there for decades. With this new option now available and growing, it was time to bring in some investors, of course those from Shark Tank. Let’s find out more about the company, the founder and where they are now.
What exactly is Collars and Co?
According to their website, Collars and Co set out to solve a problem. The problem was that men were uncomfortable wearing dress shirts under sweaters. it made them feel warm and bulky. They knew there had to be a better way and Collars and Co was born!
They worked for a year searching for just the right fabrics, materials and designs. The key was to “create the perfect buttery soft polo with a standard English spread collar.” It’s all about the spread of the collar.
Who is the Owner/Founder of Collars and Co?
The founder of the company is Justin Baer who is from Bethesda, Maryland. It was founded in March of 2021 and he is not a newcomer to the world of entrepreneurship. According to Justin’s Linkedin, he has founded a number of companies including Check In Easy, TeachingProAcademy.com, and Member Text.

He studied Marketing and Real Estate Finance at NYU and graduated in 2004.
His company has received some great press including spots in Forbes, GQ, Esquire, Mens Health, Fast Company, Golf Digest, Glossy, and WWD.
Justin is married since December 16, 2011 to his beautiful wife.
Justin has two daughters, his 7 year old daughter was a big reason the company even started.
1. Baer’s daughter recorded a video on an iPhone and posted it on social media. The video received 50,000 views in one day.
Following the release of the video, the company brought in $40,000 in the first month. (Inc.)

3. Watch as Justin Baer announces that he and his company will be on Shark Tank on ABC on November 11, 2022. He gives the people on TikTok a lot of the credit for being there through the journey giving them ideas.

Where is Collars and Co now after Shark Tank?
Shark Tank definitely was a huge milestone for the young company and they are certainly continuing to grow at a very fast pace. They are quite active on social media with press showing up in major publications. It doesn’t look like that will slow down anytime soon.
They have expanded their offerings to multiple categories including dress collar polos, sweaters, outerwear, and belts. Their best sellers are many versions of the polo shirt.
They started including new overcoats and jackets in their lineup as well.
