1) Chicken Salt was invented in Australia during the 1970’s, and both Khasha Touloei and Maynard Okereke grew up loving it. When they came to the US for college, they realized that it wasn’t sold in the states. They ordered some from home, but were shocked to find out how unhealthy it was. So, they set off to make their own.
2) Their seasoning contains no MSG, is gluten-free, and doesn’t have any eggs, dairy, soy, or other common allergens. No preservatives and no artificial ingredients either! It’s carefully crafted with spices, sea salt, turmeric, onion, and garlic powders.
3) There are 5 flavors: Original, Reduced Sodium, Barbecue, Lime, and Red Pepper. Original is the ingredients listed above; reduced is just as it sounds: 50% less sodium than the original; barbecue is smoky and sweet; lime gives a bit of citrus; red pepper is the spiciest of all 5.
4) Khasha and Maynard have been featured on the Food Network and QVC for their hit product. The creators also attend vegan festivals every month, where their seasoning is super successful.
5) It’s available for purchase on Amazon. You can also purchase it on QVC.com.
