Let’s Get to Know Candace Nelson – Guest Shark on Shark Tank!

1. According to her official LinkedIn profile, Candace wears many hats. She is an angel investor, TV personality, executive producer and author. Candace may have begun her career in investment banking and launching start-ups online before she completely shifted paths. When she lost her job in banking, this took Candace on a journey towards her passion.

2. She followed her dreams and passions of going back to pastry school! This helped her launch Sprinkles Cupcakes in 2005. She describes it as, “The world’s first cupcake bakery and cupcake ATM.” You can visit Sprinkles Cupcakes online here.

3. In 2017, Candace Nelson launched Pizzana, a fast growing chain of award winning Neo-Neapolitan pizzerias. Don’t have one located near you? Don’t worry. 4. It’s unclear exactly what Candace Nelson’s net worth is, but it is estimated to be between $5 – $10 million.

5. She has ties to Elizabeth Berkley from Saved By the Bell fame and Candace Cameron Bure from Full House fame. When Candace Nelson posted this behind the scenes teaser video announcing to her Instagram followers that she was taking the Shark Tank stage by storm, the two popular celebrities reacted. 6. She is a mother and a wife. On Father’s Day, she posed on the Los Angeles Golf Course in California with her husband and two sons. “Best dad ever,” she wrote in the caption.

5 Facts About Tony Xu, DoorDash CEO and Guest Shark

1) Tony Xu was born in Nanjing, China and came to the USA with his parents at age 5. His mother was a doctor in China, and his father was working towards a degree in aeronautical engineering and applied math, according to CNBC. Meanwhile, Tony went on to attend UC Berkley for engineering and Stanford for business.

2) Tony is not his first name. Originally born Xu Xun, he decided to change his name to better fit in with his new classmates. So, he adopted the name Tony after his favorite American TV show character, Tony from Who’s the Boss.

3) In 2012, Tony and his three business classmates Stanley Tang, Andy Fang and Evan Moore started the food delivery service app Palo Alto Delivery, even making the deliveries themselves. A year later, after receiving seed money, they changed the name to DoorDash and began hiring delivery drivers called “Dashers.”

By 2014, DoorDash received almost $20 million in funding and delivered food of over 1,000 restaurants in California. Then, they expanded across the country. Now, Xu is running the most popular food delivery service: DoorDash has over 1 million drivers and 18 million customers.

4) 2022 saw DoorDash’s earnings total $6 billion and so it makes sense that Forbes reported Tony’s net worth to be $1.3 billion.
