Meet Max Dasher from American Idol
Max Dasher is Laela’s younger brother. He is a high school senior from Swannanoa, North Carolina. Max plays football and enjoys singing. He appears to be into folk, Americana and country music, judging from his covers on social media.
He does also dabble in Christian music though. Max even wrote a song at The Worship Initiative in Dallas, Texas, which is featured on the album Psalms from the Well. He’s originally from Black Mountain, NC. He often posts covers of songs by artists like Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves, but Max also doesn’t shy away from pop artists like Justin Bieber, either.
When he’s not singing, the 18-year-old musician enjoys playing guitar, traveling, snowboarding and hanging out with his girlfriend Annabelle Harrison.
Meet Laela Dasher from American Idol
Laela Dasher is Max’s older sister. She is currently in college at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Laela is recently a newlywed, marrying husband Dawson Skinner on New Year’s Eve 2023. They were high school sweethearts. She grew up playing music with her brother, Max. But, nowadays, Laela’s musical genres have broadened.
She is part of a Christian group called LO (Live Original) Worship, which was founded by her cousin Sadie Robertson Huff. You may know Sadie from the popular TV show Duck Dynasty (which makes Phil Robertson Laela and Max’s uncle). LO Worship’s extended play (EP) “Steady Light” has over 1 million streams on Spotify. The song “Open” has over 6.5 million streams. LO followed up their success with two live albums and an album of seven new songs.
When she’s not making music, the 20-year-old singer enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking and sharing photos and videos on her social media pages.

McKenna’s Adoptive Family
McKenna’s adoptive mother’s name is Lisa Breinholt. She is 52 years old and is very close with her family. McKenna’s adoptive father’s name is Garin Breinholt. He is 53 and is an Executive VP according to his LinkedIn.
Who are McKenna Breinholt’s Brothers?
Plus, there are McKenna’s adoptive brothers Cameron and Caden Breinholt to round out the family. Cameron is 23 and studies business at Brigham Young University (BYU). He works as a strategy intern per his LinkedIn. Caden is 16 years old and is in high school.
They all live in Gilbert, Arizona, with the exception of Cameron, who’s in Utah for college.
McKenna’s Birth Family
McKenna’s birth mother is the late Amy Ross Lopez, a singer who performed with the folk duo Nowhere Man and A Whiskey Girl. Her partner in both music and life was McKenna’s father, Derrick Ross. Unfortunately, Amy Ross Lopez passed away in 2013, and not too long after that, Derrick took his own life.
McKenna learned about her birth mother when she was 21 years old, although she never got the chance to meet her. She discovered more members of her birth family last summer, announcing the exciting news on Facebook in January. “I found my birth family last summer (all in God’s timing)…My entire family and I have been so ecstatic ever since finding them and being able to connect with them,” she wrote.
While she had not met them in person, Breinholt told the judges she had FaceTimed some of them. However, she was surprised to see a few of her birth family members were actually at the Idol audition. Her adoptive parents had helped to get some of them together to surprise McKenna when she received her golden ticket to Hollywood.
Then, she performed an original song written by her birth mother. Even Amy’s mother said it was like hearing a “beautiful ghost.” A clip was shown of Amy singing, showcasing the similarity in her voice to McKenna’s.
The other members of her birth family who attended the audition were her two aunts, Lindy Minick Nielsen and Katie Carpenter; her uncle Matthew “Matt” Lopez; and her grandmother, Ranelle Johnson Kane, Amy’s mother. Lindy is a musician; Katie works as a counselor in Montana. Matt works as a facility manager and is a member of the band DueWest. Ranelle is recently retired.

Meet Meggie Iyer of American Idol Season 22
1) She is a freshman at Indiana Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She interned at Bank of America, according to her LinkedIn, and performed at Carmel’s Christkindlmarkt. Iyer is studying finance and accounting.
She is 19 years old, but was 18 at the time of her audition, which you can see a sneak peek of below. The experience was “nothing short of amazing” she wrote on her LinkedIn.
2) Meggie always wanted to be a singer and get the chance to perform on American Idol. So for her, this reality is everything she could have ever wanted. She began training for the show 4 years ago.
Meggie even competed on “Carmel Idol”, her hometown’s version of the show and won.
3) Iyer is a member of the sorority Kappa Delta. She’s made tons of friends and forged bonds thanks to joining Indiana’s chapter. “sistersssss 
,” she captioned a photo collage of her and her friends. Prior to college, she attended Carmel High School where she participated in debate, swimming and earned academic distinction upon graduation.
4) She has over 800,000 likes on TikTok and 8,000+ followers. Of course, some of her most popular videos are of her singing. Check out this cover Meggie did of Adele’s “Someone Like You.”
5) Iyer has an adorable dog who is at home while she’s away at college. But, she misses him a lot, even posting a TikTok dedicated to her four-legged best friend.

Meet McKenna Faith Breinholt of American Idol

Meet Jack Blocker of American Idol
1) Jack is from Dallas, Texas. While he is a performer, Blocker also dabbles in design work. Beginning in his early teens, Jack’s knack for design led him to work on local gallery projects in Texas, according to Canvas Rebel.
2) However, by the time college came around, his music career took off too. He is one-half of the alternative rock duo Rightfield with his friend Reed Hoelscher. They secured an independent deal, which took them touring and got their name out into the music world. They have two albums recorded already.
3) For his solo act though, Jack took a different direction sound-wise. His musical style is considered to be folk. Musical heroes include The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons and Willie Nelson. But, don’t worry: Jack and Reed don’t plan on stopping the band. Between his solo act and band work, Blocker’s got an entire catalog of music online.
4) In 2020, Jack got engaged to his girlfriend Georgia. They were married in summer 2021. He often posts about his wife since a lot of people look forward to seeing their relationship via his social media.

Meet Blake Proehl from American Idol
1) He was a former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver. Proehl was with the Vikings following the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he suffered an ACL tear during training.
2) Never one to let that deter him, Blake was back during the 2022 season. But, he was also working on his singing career during his off time. In 2022, a video of him singing to his grandma went viral. This helped propel his career forward. Blake released a few singles afterwards and played a few shows.
His grandma even joined him for his American Idol audition.
3) He is the son of former wide receiver Ricky Proehl, who played in the NFL for 17 years, according to Sports Illustrated. That’s not the only football history he has in his family. Blake’s brother, Austin, was picked in the 2018 draft by the Buffalo Bills. Austin’s career took off with the Titans, Rams, 49ers, Dragons, Chargers, Giants and Battlehawks.
4) Blake was born and raised in North Carolina. He even attended East Carolina University from 2018-2020. He’s 25 years old.
5) His career is helped by his massive social media following. Blake has close to 600,000 TikTok followers and over 53,000 on Instagram. He’s just getting started, and the sky’s the limit for him when it comes to his music. You can listen to his newest single, “Chapters” now.
