Even with the pandemic he tries to get out to see live shows. Caleb went to King George, Virginia to see Shelby Lynn Madison perform. It was his first time meeting his friend.
How old is Caleb Kennedy from American Idol?
1) Caleb Kennedy is a country singer. He’s a 16 year old high school student.
2) He writes his own music. He wrote a tribute to his grandfather called “That’s My Papa.” Check out the sentimental IG video below:
3) Caleb loves collaborating. He plays with other bands (he plays guitar), and supports other local artists. He’s even cool with traveling to other states for gigs. For example, he recently supported Shelby Lynn Madison at a show in Virginia. He wrote on Instagram for everyone to “listen to her new single “Ain’t The One” on all platforms.”
He said, “Had a great weekend up in King George VA!!! Loved getting to meet @shelbysmusic had a wonderful time and finally met one of my great music buddies. y’all go check her out and listen to her new single “Ain’t The One” on all platforms.”
4) He released his first official single last year called “It’ll Catch Up With Me Someday.” It’s available for streaming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

How did the American Idol Judges react to Caleb?
All the judges really liked Caleb. Katy Perry even said, “You better finish that song ‘Nowhere,’ because it’s going to take you somewhere.” Luke Bryan said, “you’re just perfect and you have a voice that tells a story far beyond a 16-year-old.” Lionel Richie told Caleb he has “mastered a storyteller’s voice.”
