Boho Camper Vans build, sell, and rent camper vans. They are getting back to basics with the fun of camping experience. You can use these vans for an adventure or even a place to call home. Find out all about Boho Camper Vans below as they show up on Shark Tank.
1. For Boho, it’s all about comfort and convenience. The boho.life website says: “Boho vans bring experience back to the road through carefully designed spaces and aesthetic intention. Everything in our vans has been curated to make your travels easy and fun. Whether you’re looking for an adventure with no commitments, or a van to call your home – Boho has an option for everyone.”
2. They build their vans in Phoenix, Arizona. Here is one they redid.
3. Here’s a story of a Boho Van transformation. “Dave, a California native living in Texas, brought his van to boho with a specific goal in mind: freedom. He had spent most of his working in the medical and therapy space while raising a family, taking business risks and adventures, and successfully starting and selling his business. –
Now it was time for a new adventure…
Klondike was built on a Ford E250 – and true to its namesake – featured a 4’“ suspension lift, 33” tires and 17” alloy wheels. Set up for rough terrain and also stealth, Dave joked he wanted to “be mistaken for a plumber” as he plans to set forth on fly fishing, surfing and golf excursions.
Boho took their standard build setup and fit the concept to Dave’s needs and expectations, starting with dual solar panels combined with a dc-to-dc batter isolator to make Klondike ready to head off grid. –
Three types of insulation assist in temperature control, and blackout curtains keep the van private when desired.
Klondike was finished with Boho’s signature 48” slide-out drawer for cooking, an outdoor shower for easy clean up, and JBL speakers mounted flush with the wall (not pictured). The entire cabin was finished with red cedar tongue and groove – a natural bug deterrent.”
4. Boho builds vans that are fun for our furry friends too!
“Airing at the start of the pandemic was bittersweet. We had our two busiest months completely cancel on the rental side. We were losing thousands of dollars a day. We weren’t sure where the business was going to go. With our rentals just sitting in our garage, we saw an opportunity to help. We decided to donate our vans to first responders to give them a way to get a way from the hospital and just relax.”
Once the stay at home orders started to lift, they saw an increase in rental customers coming back. They’re perfect for the pandemic because they are self-quarantined by design. It’s a really great way to travel.
In the year before Shark Tank they did $493,000 in business. In the 8 months since Shark Tank (March 2020), they’ve done $1.4 million in sales. They have another $1 million of pre-orders on the way.
Barbara Corcoran, the investor in Boho Vans said, “You’re one of the entrepreneurs when I go to bed at night that I don’t worry about.”
Owners David Sodemann and Brett Ellenson went on Shark Tank and said, “Boho Camper Vans will be appearing on @sharktankabc Friday, March 20th at 7PM PST. Shark Tank is a primetime show, where millions of viewers will be introduced to Boho, and perhaps camper vans, for the first time.🦈
Some of you have rented or purchased a van from us. Many of you are fans of the movement and what we’re doing. For all of you, we hope this is exciting news and you’ll tune in to watch!”
Their Instagram account has over 11K fans and is quite up to date too. Facebook has 1600 fans.
They are offering a pre-order option.
Their initial request was for $300,000 for a 10% stake in the company. Barbara Corocoran offered $150,000 equity and a $150,000 line of credit for 10%. Lori Greiner offered $300,000 for a 20% stake with the stipulation of including a charitable angle. Kevin O’Leary offered $300,000 as a loan at 9% interest for a 7% stake in the company. They ended up choosing Barbara Corcoran as their investor. “Barbara was a perfect fit for us, because she knows we didn’t want any debt and she gave us a way to pay it off quickly.”
You can start building your own Boho van by visiting the build page on their website. It takes 7 days to get an estimate back.
