1. Blake Mycoskie is jumping on the small screen! He is set to be a guest shark on ABC’s Shark Tank. Word has it Blake sits in between Shark Tank stars Mark Cuban on his right and Kevin O’Leary on his left. (Socially distanced of course)
2. He may have sold TOMS in 2014, but he did stay on for a number of years to help with the company. In 2020 he left TOMS altogether to start “Madefor.” According to Vogue, “It is a subscription-based program that helps users adopt sustainable habits of body and mind; and develops lifestyle changes through practice-oriented monthly kit service.”
3. Blake stayed busy with his philanthropical efforts, donating $2 million to Johns Hopkins University to help fund the launch of the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research. (Vogue)
4. It’s not all work. Blake is working on his inner self too, often posting about his digital detoxing. One post detailed how he took he chooses not to use his phone as an alarm clocks. Here’s what he said, “
Sometimes the old tools are the best tools. I wake-up each day at 5AM with this old-fashioned alarm clock. Made a personal rule for myself that I wouldn’t use my phone as an alarm or allow my devices in my bedroom. Found that keeping my phone near me at night was affecting my sleep habits and the first thing I did when I woke-up each morning is look at my emails. Early mornings are my favorite and I make an effort to start my day off with intention. My morning routine starts with a cup of tea followed by mediation, spending time with my kids before school, working out, and then I tackling my inbox and any calls. What does your morning routine consist of?”
5. Blake is married! In 2021, Blake proposed to his girlfriend, Molly Holms and she said yes. He wrote, “Yesterday my soulmate and best friend agreed to spend the rest of her life with me. I feel like the luckiest man on the planet and have so much gratitude to all of our friends and family who have been a part of this magical journey.”
The couple married in June 2023 and are elated! Blake gushed, “JUST MARRIED. On Sunday I married my soulmate, Molly Holm, and officially became the luckiest man on the planet. Forever and Always.”
Does Blake Mycoskie Have a Book?
Blake Mycoskie did author a book titled, Start Something That Matters in 2011. (Find it on Amazon as a book and audiobook). The book details his story after traveling to Argentina where he encountered young children who couldn’t afford shoes and had injuries on their feet. The idea for TOMS shoes (Tomorrow’s Shoes) was born there. In the book he details the six counterintuitive principles which guided the growth of TOMS.
