5 Facts on Bee D’Vine from Shark Tank

  • by

A wine that tastes great and helps the environment? Sounds like a wonderful idea, and it’s exactly what one man decided to do with Bee D’Vine. Get more information on this unique honey wine below, including how purchasing it can have a major impact far beyond your kitchen, before it makes its Shark Tank debut.

Details on Bee D’Vine

1) The concept came from conservationist Ayele Solomon, who was inspired by Ethiopia’s amazing wine called t’ej. He visited his country in 2009 and wondered how he could remind people why these trees should be valued. One such reason? Their flowerings are perfect for bees to use to make honey.

2) Proceeds from the wine go to a province in Ethiopia called Kafa. It’s to help finance beehive conservation efforts, therefore earning families more income. Another goal is to help save the forests there and reduce carbon emissions.

3) Ayele is working on sharing revenues within the community, along with converting traditional hives into modern ones. When you purchase Bee D’Vine wine you will also be protecting endangered California bees, and helping beekeepers.

4) The wine has a unique taste, very floral, fragrant, and sweet. It’s definitely different from what people are used to have in red or white wines. There’s the honey wine, but there’s also grape and sparkling honey. You can purchase 750 or 375ml, or get a Berelé flask.

5) Bee D’Vine received accolades from Food & Wine Magazine, and was even featured on the TODAY show.

To see what happens with Ayele and his pitch, be sure to tune in to Shark Tank on Nov. 13 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
