An Update on Banana Phone from Shark Tank

People love their phones. It’s a necessity to keep in contact with everyone around you. One product that’s quirky and unique in this market is the Banana Phone. The Bluetooth handset phone will be featured on ABC’s hit entrepreneurial show Shark Tank. We have an update with five facts for you below. So, if you want to learn more about the product and the company, keep reading.

5 Facts on Banana Phone from Shark Tank

More on the Founders..

1) Max Brown and Brian Brunsing created the Banana Phone. The name reflects the product shape: yes, it is a banana. A bright yellow color compliments the unique shape. Apparently the moniker comes from the 1994 song of the same name by Rafi.

Where can you get it?

2) The duo began this as a side hustle through a successful IndieGoGo campaign. In 2017, they raised $44,850! Nowadays, they sell the product on Amazon and on their website.

3) Features of the phone include: Initiate a call via voice commands to Siri or Google Assistant, press the multifunction button to play your favorite songs, use the push button to reject or accept calls, and access to your smartphone’s full contact list. To pair it with your smartphone, simply use the Bluetooth technology.

4) There’s a special reason why they launched this specific product. Max and Brian love gorillas. They are donating 1% of their sales to Gearing Up 4 Gorillas, an organization that protects gorillas in the Congo. The Mountain gorilla in the Congo is endangered, and so the guys will do whatever they can to help.

Which episode are they on?

5) They will be pitching their product on season 14, episode 2 of Shark Tank. They posted about their appearance, writing: “Will we get a deal? Tune in this Friday, September 30th at 8/7c to watch our founders Max Brown and Brian Brunsing, pitch the Banana Phone to the sharks on ABC’s Shark Tank!” Follow the company on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even YouTube.

Did they make a deal?

All the sharks went out so unfortunately they did not make a deal. However, they did get great publicity just for appearing on Shark Tank and can expect sales to spike from their segment.

Watch Shark Tank on Friday September 30 at 8 PM on ABC. You can also stream episodes on demand and on Hulu.
