Update on Aira from Shark Tank

  • by

Aira is a Tesla coil-based wireless charging device. It was pitched on ABC’s Shark Tank in season 11. Find out below if the idea got a deal with the sharks, and what happened after the show.

Aira Update

1) Eric Goodchild and Jake Slatnick are the creators of Aira. They went into the tank asking for $500,000 For 7%. What they got was $500,000 for 15%, according to Shark Tank Tales. With this deal, they actually got 3 sharks: Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, and Robert Herjavec.

2) The product is a wireless charging platform that seamlessly blends into any environment. Plus, it charge multiple devices. You can even place the phone down anywhere on the mat, and it’ll still charge! The technology behind it is called “Free Power.”

3) Something that’s really interesting about this product is that instead of selling directly to consumers, they license their technology, and it’s available through other companies that have charging mats. Nomad is their bestseller, and it’s found in furniture, automotive, and electronics.

4) Shark Tank isn’t the only attention the company’s garnered. They’ve been featured in The Washington Post, Forbes, and CNN.

5) Surprisingly, they don’t have much social media. They have a Twitter page, but it’s not been active since 2020. If you want, you can follow technology giant Nomad on Instagram, which is the only company Lori tagged in her Instagram post above.

Catch all-new episodes of Shark Tank airing Fridays at 8 PM ET on ABC.
