Tanner Fussell is a singer/songwriter who is joining thousands of others to audition in front of the celebrity judges to be on The Voice. This experienced musician has performed in many spots and now he can add the NBC The Voice stage to his resume. Many who saw him perform will want to know more about who he is. Where is Tanner From?
1. It looks like Tanner has spent much time moving around. He was born and mostly raised in Statesboro, Georgia. There is actually another The Voice connection to Statesboro and that comes from Bryce Leatherwood’s girlfriend, Lexie who is also from the same town.
According to his website, Tanner began singing and playing music via the guitar when was only 8 years old in Georgia. As time went on, he moved forward with creating a band known as “Half-Seas Over” which he was a part of for 5 years performing all over the south. In 2019 he moved to Colorado. He brought his own style of soulful southern rock all through the South and more recently to the Colorado area.
2. When Tanner isn’t playing music or touring, he likes to take part in some of his hobbies. He recently took a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and what did he do there? He took some time to go fishing and it looks like he caught some pretty big fish! Tanner captions this one “Places one would rather be at on a Thursday.”

3. Tanner loves to collaborate with others. In Nashville, Tennessee he took some time to work with a singer/songwriter/musician named Hailey Dawn. According to her Instagram she is a Fleetwood Mac enthusiast. Together they created a new song which came out in December of 2021. It’s called, “Message in a Bottle.” They performed some of the song in this video below but they premiered the full song at the Local Nash in Nashville. Get a sample of it here.
4. Tanner just doesn’t stop! He and his band performed at The Listening Room. Guess what? It was completely sold out. He even has a single out now titled, “Tangled.” You can hear the single on Spotify.
5. When Tanner announced he auditioned for The Voice and made it to the Blind Auditions, he was met with tons of support from his fans and friends. He took the time to respond to some of them as well expressing his excitement for the opportunity and telling people he would “give it everything he’s got.”
In another video, he further teases his appearance on The Voice asking people who they thought he would choose on the show, John Legend or his grandfather. So many people were so excited for his news, but sorry, John Legend, most wanted him to choose his grandfather’s team!
6. Tanner likes to jam out on TikTok too. He performed a cover of “Use Me” by Bill Withers on his guitar. Looks like he has a patriotic flare with the American Flag design showing near his guitar.
