An Update on Shark Tank’s Pink Picasso

  • by

Painting is an art form, and a form of self-expression. But, sometimes, it can be messy and a bit frustrating. That’s where paint kits can come in handy. Pink Picasso on ABC’s Shark Tank season 13 pitched that exact product. Discover more about the company below with five facts. Plus, get an update as to where they are now.

5 Facts on Pink Picasso from Shark Tank

1) Ashley and Brittany Silfies are the founders of Pink Picasso. Ashley’s background is in manufacturing and photography. Brittany told the sharks that her wife Ashley was looking for a way to support her and their 3 kids, which is what led to the idea for their company.

2) When Ashley combined her skills, they created paint-by-numbers kits. So, they take photos from photographers and turn them into these kits for people to use. Each kit comes with canvas, paintbrushes, and a set of acrylic paints. Brittany and Ashley officially launched the business in 2019 and did $1.3 million in sales. In 2020, they did $3.5 million, and projected $5 million by the end of 2021.

3) When they went into the tank, they asked for $400,000 for 5% equity. They ended up getting the $400,000, but for 15% equity. However, for that price, they got two investors: Lori Greiner and guest shark Daniel Lubetzky.

4) Although they have been successful (they were featured on Oprah.com prior to the show), their next goal is to be in craft stores like Michaels. Lori and Daniel’s connections can help make that happen.

5) Currently, the products are in 2,100 boutiques across the country, and are available online via their website and Amazon. There are kits for both adults and kids, as well as accessories. Of course, they are continuing to put out new designs too.

You can follow Pink Picasso on Instagram to keep up with their latest updates. However, if you haven’t seen their episode, Season 13 of Shark Tank is available to stream on Hulu.
