FuzziBunz from Shark Tank Update

  • by

Taking care of a baby is hard work, especially when it comes to changing diapers. Tereson Dupuy wanted to create a solution. What started as a way to help her son’s diaper rash turned into a profitable idea. FuzziBunz are adjustable cloth diapers for babies. The company had great success in their first years, which led to their Shark Tank debut. But, where is Tereson and her company now? Find out below.

An Update on FuzziBunz

1) Tereson started her business in 1999, and within the first 5 years, it made millions in sales. Things only skyrocketed from there after The New York Times profiled her in 2008. Everyone loved the idea of a cloth diaper with a reusable, removable insert.

2) In 2012, she was invited to be on Shark Tank. When she went in to the tank, she asked for $500,000 for 15%. That put her valuation at over 3.3 million dollars. When she gave the sharks her numbers of 3.9 million the previous year, and over 24 million in her life, they were intrigued. Unfortunately, that didn’t last when Tereson explained their manufacturing problems.

3) Even though she didn’t walk away with a deal, Tereson’s company still benefitted from Shark Tank. There was an uptick in sales, and it made her consider expanding her product line. After some expansion, she saw even more success, according to the Gazette Review.

4) Oddly enough, despite her continued success, it appears Tereson is no longer the CEO of the company. According to her LinkedIn, her last year was 2018. Now, she works as an e-commerce operations manager at WomenServe. Owning a successful business for 18 years is quite the achievement!

5) Don’t worry about the business. It may not be run by Tereson anymore, but it’s still up and running. They’ve expanded their design range, and moved into accessories. You can currently shop FuzziBunz on their official website. They aren’t active on social media now, but the Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts still exist.
