American Idol continues its audition process on Feb. 28. One new contestant who will take the stage is Xavier Washington. We’ve got five facts about the American Idol hopeful below. So, keep reading to learn more about Xavier.
Update on 3/21/21: Xavier was found by Ryan Seacrest studying Chinese. He is actually a student at Yale University. The judges just loved his runs they jumped up after he performed. He along with Grace Kinstler were moved on to the Hollywood Duets week.
1) Xavier graduated from Yale University in 2020.
2) While in college, he traveled with a cappella group, the Whiffenpoofs. He met Mindy Kaling of The Office while on tour!
3) Xavier released his first single called “Never Again” in fall 2019. He’s collaborated with artists on Spotify too.
4) He was on an episode of The Terrell Show last year. It’s a popular YouTube show hosted by Terrell Rice. Xavier free-styled and sang live, earning him mega-publicity.
5) His social media presence is impressive. Xavier has over 38,000 Instagram followers. He’s not verified yet, but perhaps after his Idol debut, he will be!
